My husband passed away Sunday morning, October 3rd, a little before 8 am, one day short of our 41st anniversary. The funeral is Friday. Dad fought bravely all year. He kept up his spirits and his hope to reach remission all the way to just before the end, when finally he knew there was no more hope. He is no longer in pain, he is no longer suffering. May he rest in peace. It was my honor to care for him.
You never wanted to see me cry
You didn't want a sad goodbye
Quietly you saw us sleeping
So you left before the weeping.

Sent to me by a friend:
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
And whispered "Come with Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Laying loving hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
