Catching up

Something I didn't post because I was too tired:

July 18 storm lasted for 8 minutes, power was out for 11 hours. This is across the alley from the back yard.

I found a heavy 5 foot long chunck of wood in the garden

Couldn't figure out where it came from

It left a 6-inch deep pit where it hit the ground

I'm standing next to the board. That's how far away the pole is.

Next morning----here is the job NIPSCO completed just before midnight

An alley full of limbs waiting to be picked up.

Next post---some of the things I've been doing around the house while Dad is in the hospital.

What I bought today

For Dad while he's in the hospital (I bought movies too). He's getting better because he's getting bored. It was on sale, only $65, marked down from $85.

Macey thought it was for her but it's actually a modular drawer so I can straighten up the laundry room

In other news, we had 3 inches of rain last night and another inch or more in the last hour. I can't look at the rain gauge because it's being guarded by a spider in an orb web. Ewwwww

Who keeps making lace out of the banana pepper leaves? Grrrrrr!!! Are they hiding in all those weeds?

Dinky Zucchini is sure to grow large soon.

This is what I woke up to...

Good Morning---YOUR COMPUTER IS DUMPED ON THE FLOOR!!!

What the heck?!?! Oh---the shelf bracket broke, so it tumbled out of the cabinet. Better view below:

After an hour or so of unplugging, untangling, dusting (while I had everything out) and placing the shelf on the top brackets, I had my computer set up and running. I put the power strip and external drives on top.

Here is a close up of the shelf bracket that fell off. It had two of these tiny nails holding it up---that's it! I can't believe they held for so long!
